My name is Katie, but most people call me KP. I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina and still live here today. I work as a paralegal by day and create art at all other times.
I’ve been mesmerized by the freeing nature of the creative world since I was a little girl. You can be whoever you want. You can create whatever you want… and you are never wrong for it. I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember— going back to finger painting while my mom cooked dinner. I’ve always felt the need to create and I’ve been lucky to have a mom who is just as creative and who has always valued and supported art in all forms.
Over the years, I’ve painted things for friends, family, and myself but I had never felt confident enough to share my work with the world. I slowly started to open up, posting a picture of a painting or drawing here and there and the support I received was overwhelming.
I create for all people because art is for all people. Your experience is your own and you should be and feel free to express yourself in your own way.
Anyone can be an artist. Anyone can love art. And anyone should be able to experience art.
