imposter in the room
Who hasn’t faced imposter syndrome at some point?
Maybe some of us haven’t even realized that’s the beast we’re facing. That inner monologue screaming that you are a phony and it’s only a matter of time before you’re exposed and everyone finds out you’re a fraud.
How does imposter syndrome manifest itself?
Social anxiety.
Believing you’re going to fail no matter what.
Devaluing your worth.
Underestimating your own expertise.
STOP.
Whoever told you you weren’t good enough, I’m sorry. Whoever told you you’re hard to love, I’m sorry.
Whoever told you that your dreams were stupid, I’m sorry.
Whoever taught you to second guess yourself, I’m sorry. Whoever made you feel less than, I’m sorry.
What if instead you were told that you can be and do whatever you put your mind to? That no dream is too big. That no path is wrong. That you’re lovable every day. That your productivity does not determine your worth. That your most authentic self is perfectly imperfect. That we all feel that moment of doubt before we jump into something magnificently terrifying yet exciting.
